DESCRIPTION:Required materials are included in the $150 fee. \nCourse Description \nThe 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User and Refresher Course prepares construction workers\, supervisors\, and others who use or work around supported scaffolds to recognize hazards and apply safe work practices. Through instructor-led instruction\, demonstrations\, practical activities\, and assessments\, learners examine scaffold components\, access requirements\, fall protection\, load capacity\, duty ratings\, inspections\, tagging\, reporting\, and corrective actions. The course addresses applicable supported-scaffold safety requirements and prepares learners to make informed decisions when working on or around supported scaffolds. \n  \nInstructor Name: Carlos Luque \nLanguage of instruction: Bilingual instruction in English and Spanish. \nDelivery method: In-person \nLearner prerequisites: \n– No prior scaffold training\, certification\, or experience is required. This course is intended for individuals who use\, access\, inspect\, or work on or around supported scaffolds. \nCEU calculation: This four-hour learning event represents 0.4 CEUs based on 240 minutes of eligible instructional contact time. CST will award IACET CEUs only for qualifying learning events conducted after CST receives IACET Accredited Provider status. \nIACET CEUs awarded (if accredited): \n– 0.4 IACET CEUs\, based on 240 minutes of eligible instructional contact time. \nMandatory completion requirements: \n– Learners must attend and complete the entire four-hour learning event to earn a certificate and 0.4 IACET CEUs. \n– If instructional time is missed\, the learner must complete CST-approved make-up instruction covering the missed content and activities before receiving CEUs or a certificate. \n– Completing make-up instruction does not waive the final-examination requirement. \n– To successfully complete the course and earn 0.4 IACET CEUs\, learners must: \n\nComplete all required instructional contact time;\nParticipate in required activities and practical exercises; and\nEarn at least 70% on the final examination.\n\nLearners who do not initially earn 70% will receive feedback and information regarding remediation and retesting.
